Real… Not REAL

Reality Vs Perception
And Why We Sometimes Get In The Way Of Our Own Success!

Once upon a time…

(Yep that’s a useful way to look at the thoughts whirring along - inside your nut).

They’re NOT reality - only a “Story” of reality based on all the “meanings” you’ve decided are true in your life (Beliefs)

NOTE: Re-read the above a few times before ya move on.

I mean…

Have you noticed how humans from other cultures have different “story-tapes” running in the background of their minds?

Look…

It doesn’t mean your right and they’re wrong…
It means they have a different  “guide” to help them live out life…

(A system of behavior designed to predict certain actions for the multitude of humans born into it).

Now…

Again, PRESS the (I believe button) before we move on (it’s important).

The word “reality” is just how things are regardless of the meanings we give.
For example…

Calling a bird a bird isn’t going to affect how it lives out it’s life.
Even if you called it an Eagle!

You could make all sorts of stories of eagles, and even use them as symbols of courage and strength.

For instance…

when the ancient romans carried the eagle “standard” into battle, the stories that were implanted into the soldiers minds through early indoctrination, motivated their actions on the battle field.

But to the eagle…
It didn’t give a shit what stories were made up about it…

It just went about it’s normal activities, eating when it was hungry and sleeping when it was tired.

Point being…

Humans are the only dorks on earth that make use of stories to change their perception of reality!

Now…

Hold that thought because it’s vital to know when deciding to “Stand Out” in a crowded, saturated, and hectic marketplace.

If You Want To Stand Out… Create A Different Story!

Have you ever heard of the “cabbage patch” doll before it was launched?

Course not…

It was NEW

(okay, maybe generations before… something similar.

But the time Cabbage patch kids broke onto the scene, previous generations were either dead or couldn’t remember).

Thing is...

Xavier Roberts licensed this product to Roger Schlaifer (who renamed the product) for worldwide distribution.

He used an existing product, changed the name, arranged a licensing agreement, placed it into distribution, and the rest is history.

Just by thinking a bit differently.

And putting the "What If" on a more positive note.

One last Example of The Pre-concieved Ideas That Just Might Stop You From Getting Where You Want to Go...

Imagine this...

I've selected a strong, long, 4 inch thick, 12 inch wide length of high tensile wood board. Now I've securely fastened the board across a deep chasm.

There's a soft breeze.

The sun's shining.

And all you've got to do is walk the 5 meters it takes to reach the other side.

Would you do it?

And if I pulled the board in, and placed it on solid ground... would you attempt it now?

The only difference in reality is the context given, and the "what ifs" playing in your mind.

You would be able to run across the wood if it was on solid ground.

But over the deep chasm, the "what ifs" cause your heart to jump out of your chest, stoppin you from taking action.

The "act of walking the board is exactly the same. But the picture in your head will be different for everyone.

So...

Is life's determined by the voices in your head?

And NOT the reality that's presented to you?

Maybe it's time to switch off the little numpty in your head, when it says "What if"

And plug into the untamed, wild channel of alternative, go for it, YEHAAA, stand alone, offensive, bring-it-on, don't give a rat's ar*e what you think, world of fun and prosperity!

It's the only REAL control you have.

And it's inside of YOU

Waitin' to change the world.

Hurry up...

Plug into the next episode, and I'll show you some fancy shiz that will get your wheels spinning - BIG time.

  1. Hi Dedo,
Just read your intriguing post “Real… Not REAL,” and I must say, it’s a fascinating dive into the concept of reality versus perception.

Your exploration of how our beliefs shape our reality and the unique ‘story-tapes’ that run in different cultures is thought-provoking. The analogy of the eagle and how humans use stories to alter perception really brings your point home.
It got me thinking: in this era where ‘stories’ are often manipulated, how do we distinguish between what is genuinely ‘real’ and what’s a constructed narrative? Especially in a world full of information overload.

Thank you for sparking such an exciting discussion. Looking forward to more of your thought-provoking content!

    Best wishes,
    Makhsud

    1. Hey Makhsud!

Thanks for your response; it warms my heart that you take the time to ponder these ideas (not many do)

And as for your question about stories and their manipulation…

      A story’s a story…

      A fact is a fact…

      And, reality is – well…

      REALITY!

The point about standing out in a crowded market is about pondering these 3 concepts on your own.

      And when you do…

YOUR ability to shine in a jaded marketplace will forever be your legacy.

TIP: To spark new ideas, inventors look to nature/reality for inspiration.

Hope this helps Makhsud. Have a great day my friend.

  2. Hello!

I appreciate the way you challenge us to reconsider our thoughts as just ‘stories’ and not necessarily reality!

I also believe that our thoughts are not absolute reality but rather stories we’ve constructed based on our beliefs.

Sometimes I get lost in my thoughts, especially before sleeping, and I build potential scenarios of different situations that at the end I may never have.

How often do you catch yourself getting lost in your own story tapes? I would be pleased to discuss how changing the narrative can impact our perceptions and, ultimately, our success!

    Thanks!

    1. Hey Leonardo!

Great to see you again my friend.

And you deserve a pat on the back for your abiiity to distinguish thoughts from reality (you’re in a unque and rare percentile).

And to your question about being lost in my own tapes…

I knew about this shiz decades ago, and had the abiiity to “switch off” the mind chatter before going to bed.

The only distinction I didn’t make back then, was to realize the chatter has NO real purpose in the minds GPS system for day-to-day living.

Life unfolds how it will – second by second (whether we like it or not).

But, sometimes, (or mostly) we get in the way trying to hold back that great tidal wave of new experience and wonder.

      Listen…

If you can decide you’re a human that can take action (in any direction your wish), and not paint your perception with stories of lack, what ifs, and “CAN’T.” You will achieve far more than you’ll ever imagine.

All you have to do it put one foot in front of the other and learn the route whlle walking… it’s a lot less stressful, and much more FUN!

Hope this helps, have a brill’ day.

      Always in your corner.

  3. Reading this has definitely challenged me to look at things a little differently. So, are reality and perception the same thing? I feel like that’s my ultimate take away from this article. This would mean that you can turn any of your thoughts into reality. Which is true to an extent. No matter how much I think I can fly on my own with just my body, it won’t happen. No matter how much I flap my arms I will not fly. I will only be standing there looking silly. I think that’s an important perspective to keep in mind. Great article I can’t wait to read more of your content!
