10 “NO BULLSHIT” Effective Strategies For Sky-Rocketing Your Email Marketing Results Right NOW!

(Or I’m A Monkey’s Uncle)

What I’m going to share with you below may look deceptively simple because of its ease and no-bull approach… but don’t let that fool you to the underlying power these nuggets of wisdom will bring you.

Almost all of these tips can be implemented RIGHT NOW… and you can expect to see improvements by TOMORROW! – Or maybe even sooner.

But, if you’re expecting a long, drawn-out, boring explanation that goes balls deep on each tip… you’ll be disappointed. Each tip (because there are ten of them) is explained with brevity in mind… making it easier and faster for you to reach your goals.

Also, before we dive in…

Don’t be a couch potato when using these tactics and strategies because if you do… your (lack of) personal input and imagination will hurt your marketing IQ. And that’s NOT good for you, your business… or your customers.

Good Luck.

Here we go…

#1: Stand Out

The reality we’re faced with when sending out emails is this…

Once it lands inside your subscribers’ inbox, it’s competing with two dozen other emails, all drooling for your readers’ attention. So…

If you think you can write just any old email and expect it to be read ahead of your competitors… “You’re a doughnut,” you’re wrong, and it WILL be ignored… Period!

Now, more than ever, your subscribers are reaching into their inboxes… and without thinking about it, they’re deleting email after email, carrying on with their day (without opening or giving them a second thought). Sacrilege, I know. After all the hard work you’ve put into churning them out. But get this…

Your subscribers don’t give a rat’s ass how hard you’ve worked. All they care about is how you can benefit them.

Like A Hotdog At A Hamburger Party!”

You must find a way to grab their attention without being a tw*t, and keep their attention by being the kind of person they could imagine being friends with. And get this…

WHO you are is just as important as WHAT you know. Because with so much information circling the internet en masse. It’s foolish to imagine your content alone will be enough to attract their attention.

Inject your personality into every piece you write… and NEVER write to please.

I mean…

Why do you think millions of people tuned in to watch “The X Factor”?… Not to watch performers trying their little hearts out, NOPE! They tuned in to watch Simon Cowell rip them a new A-hole, that’s why.

Mull that one over!

#2: Engagement

Email’s a “relationship” building medium… it’s NOT a blog, NOT a social media platform, and it’s NOT a sales page. Listen…

The post you’re reading is Mine.

Facebook is Zuckerberg’s (apparently).

And the affiliate offer you’re sending subscribers to is owned by a stranger they don’t know.

However, the email you sent to your subscriber to read…

That bad boy’s landing inside, their domain… their property… THEIR home.

“They own that platform!”

That’s why you must engage them in their own living room instead of sending them off prematurely to someone else’s, where they’ll feel less comfortable.

Firstly, grab their attention with an outstanding subject line (a heading that explains, in several words, the benefits of what you’re offering). Then, KEEP that attention with a well-crafted email, which in turn sends them to the offer you’ve introduced.

And always remember…

Email’s a personal medium… so don’t spoil it by turning it into a commodity you think you own because if you do, you’ll regret it further down the line when people leave, never to return.

#3: Timidity SUCKS!

Don’t be afraid to piss people off…

Because no matter how tactile you think you’re being… there’s always someone who’ll be “Offended.” Some people are offended by their own reflection, so don’t bet the bank on pleasing every Tom, Dick, and Harry… ’cause you can’t, and it won’t help you or them.

Straight talk moves people to action… Timid talk doesn’t!

Your subscribers won’t be burnt again by some schmooze marketer with the outfacing “pleasing” persona sitting behind their computer waiting to turn you over. Nope… they’ve heard it all before.

Fooled by marketers who claimed to have their best interests at heart…

You want to be liked and trusted?

Then be a REAL human with honest opinions… the person who tells it like it is, regardless if it ruffles the feathers of some faint-hearted die-hard.

Almost every email read today says something “Nice” and “Positive.” That’s fine but get this…

NO human has a life without problems (FACT)… the most relatable ones are those who can share their dark side occasionally. Develop strong opinions, and don’t be afraid to call out bullshit when you see it. (But this doesn’t mean being an arrogant toe-rag either).

#4: Follow Up

Send DAILY Emails

Imagine saying to your partner/other half…

“Oh, sorry dear, I only want to talk to you three times a week… ’cause it’s pissing me off seeing your mug every single day.”

A smack in the mouth is what you’ll get!

If your partner is a pain in the arse, you’ll end the relationship soon enough anyway, and so will your subscribers… No big deal either way. The fit wasn’t right for both parties.

That’s why you’ve got to be in your subs’ inboxes every day. Making sure your emails are engaging, entertaining, and worth reading. The more you email, the more moola you make… period!

There are some people who say they don’t like getting daily emails… but what they really mean is…

They Don’t Like Getting CRAP Daily Emails.”

#5: Interest

Never know what to write about in an email?

This seems to be a common problem… but you’re lucky because I’m going to show you exactly how NOT to run out of ideas for your emails.

Okay…

Dedicate “1 Hr” each day to reading something of value about your chosen market… take notes as you go.

Then…

Write an email about what you’ve learned… simple, huh?

The people who run out of ideas for emails are those who aren’t “educating” themselves.

TIP: Don’t just read content ideas inside your own market. That’s a sure-fire way NEVER to stand out. Cross-pollinate by taking ideas from many different industries and adapting the concepts to your own.

“Different is better than better.”

Sally Hogshead

Predictability is one the biggest reasons your emails will be ignored… say something different. Make your readers think differently… cross-pollinate ideas from different industries, and you’ll become an in-demand writer.

There are plenty of new ways to talk about your market, simply by borrowing ideas from other markets. For example…

In the “fitness” industry, there’s lots of cross-over between your body getting FAT & LAZY from eating too much “junk food”… and your brain getting FAT & LAZY from consuming too much JUNK information.

Grab attention by injecting kooky, controversial, bizarre shock elements into your subject lines. Like…

Why I beat my 10yr old nephew with a baseball bat.”

Now, even though I didn’t beat him in the way most people will perceive (he had a cricket bat), and we agreed that whoever could hit the ball the furthest with our bats… WINS!

And come on… anyone who seriously thought I’d post an email to incriminate myself for hitting my nephew has got a few drips short of a full glass.

But it got the attention I expected… didn’t it?

Another example…

“Are you selling to peasants, commoners, tramps, and hobos?… Oompa Lumpa showed me his Willy Wonka!”

You see…

No great mystery… just DON’T be boring! >> Push Here<< to discover a quick and easy method to bring your emails’ to life!

#7: BANG!

Do you know why folk scan through their emails?

Because the very first sentence or paragraph they read bores the feck out of them.

It’s true… think of yourself and how you scan to see if any subject line grabs you by the eye“BALLS”

Here’s a quick example…

Original: “If you want to make your website much more profitable, you have to look at this.

ZZZZ, Boring – right?

Rewrite: “Does Your Website SUCK? Is It Losing YOU money? Take a Look At This…”

Much better… always open your email with a BANG! Grab your readers’ attention immediately. Because if you don’t, you’re giving them no good reason NOT to skim your email. I mean…

You have such a small window of opportunity to reel them in… why piss about with passive, boring sentences and paragraphs.

#8: You Are It!

Whenever you sit down to write an email, set your intention to one of the following elements…

  • Bizarre
  • Controversial
  • Profane
  • Angry
  • Stupid
  • WTF!
  • Funny

Now, crank up your internal dialogue to about 80%… and start writing from that place. You want to be constantly walking a tight-rope… coloring outside the lines, ruffling feathers, casting BIG opinions, and making sure your emails contain all the elements of unpredictability. Think about it…

Politicians and marketers aren’t trusted because they ALWAYS tell their audience the “fluffy” stuff they want to hear. And if that’s ALL you do, your readers will eventually become blind to your message. However…

When you “rock the boat” and take a different approach than everyone else… guess what?

You’ll stand out like a fart in a church (good publicity, bad publicity… it’s ALL publicity!).

#9: Templates

Sometimes it can be hard to come up with a theme for your emails…

  • What will I talk about?
  • Something controversial?
  • Motivational?
  • Funny?

With templates, you can fast-track the writing process when you eliminate all the unnecessary noise holding you back.

In the early days, I set up a simple writing schedule like so…

  • Monday: Write an email about a TV show, Movie, or Current event.
  • Tuesday: Write an email about something motivational.
  • Wednesday: Write an email about a popular question being asked in a successful forum.

And so when it came to a specific day, I had a theme in mind on what to create the email about…, which made it so much easier to come up with an email idea.

Sometimes all you need is a starting point to get you moving… so create a template for each day of the week, and stick to it until you don’t need to!

#10: Sell, Sell, SELL!

As stated above… Start your email out with a BANG. Make sure you don’t pitch anything in the beginning of the email. And ALWAYS make your emails personal.

It’s crucial you start with the relationship in mind first… then segue into your offer. And…

You MUST have an offer in every email you send out. As long as you believe in the products you’re promoting, and they genuinely benefit your reader… then it would be wrong NOT to introduce them to them.

Look…

FREE content inside emails doesn’t help anyone, and if you want to know how true this is… ask yourself – how much success have you had from advice given to you inside the emails you’ve read?

Exactly…

If your FREE stuff is better than your paid offer, then you’ve got serious issues.

Your freebies will benefit your readers, but the paid stuff will knock the ball out of the park… BIG time!

So why not put your paid stuff in front of them at every opportunity?

FACT…

If you’re shy about selling in every email… then you DON’T believe in what you’re selling – PERIOD.

Thanks for reading… and see you in the next episode

  • Your email marketing strategies are indeed very effective.

I agree, you must stand out and make the title very intriguing. So, your audience will be prompt to open and read your email.

Also, like you say, engagement is very important, because this enables your readers to be closer to you and your message.

And I liked the fact that you reminded to follow up the message. You don’t want to let your message be sent and that’s it!

  • As someone who has been actively engaged in email marketing for several years, I can attest to the effectiveness of these strategies.

Standing out in a cluttered inbox is vital, and injecting personality into emails is a game-changer. Engaging subscribers in a personalized manner fosters stronger connections, leading to higher open rates and click-throughs.

Fearlessly expressing genuine opinions and being unpredictable captures attention and sparks curiosity.

Sending daily emails, when done right, can boost reader loyalty and response rates.

Moreover, crafting emails with intriguing subject lines and starting with impactful hooks significantly improves engagement.

Templates help streamline content creation, ensuring consistency, and incorporating relevant offers is key to driving conversions. Implementing these tactics has led to tangible improvements in my email marketing success.

    • Hey there, Liam!

Great to see you back, and I’m stoked you noticed my Xpert advice aligns with your own methods

We’ll have to hook up, and share some insights over a nice cuppo coffee and a slice of temptation.

I don’t know about you Liam, but it’s a continuous path of intrigue and amazement (for me anyway), discovering the nuances of the human condition.

      I mean…

It was only last year I discovered why we’re most probably attracted to new sh*t. You wanna know why?

      Okay, I’ll share…

Imagine walking through the jungle, and everythings as it was yesterday. No twigs arranged differently, grass all pointing in the right direction, birds chirpin the same ole songs.

      So…

You’re walkin’ on with not a care in the world, at peace, calm, and full of contentment. Then suddenly…

A dark cloud suddenly looms overhead, a clap of thunder, a fork of lightning.

And you notice from the corner of your eye (in the background) a slight glimmer…

And in a flash, you sprint in the opposite direction, hearing a crashing off branches and twigs behind you. Eventually falling into the safety of your warm, dry warren, with all your other rabbit friends.

Hearing in the distance, the disgruntled snort of a huge red fox…

Searchin’ for another opportunity for breakfast.

      So, apparently Liam…

The attraction to new sh*t is a survival thang.

It’s “naturally” how we’re drawn to anything that’s unfamiliar,  keepin’ our little bunny arses safe from predators!

So, next time you’re scratchin’ your balls, coming up with a new subject line. Think of the fox and rabbit – and how you’ll scare the fk out of him/her! (Or get their attention.)

      Hope this helps, bud’

    • Hey Chez, how you doin’? (that was in the style of Joey from “Friends” ; )

As always, I’m grinnin’ from ear to ear (ego’s takin a hit of dopamine) and love hearing I’ve done “SOME” good in the world (only to make up for all the bad shit I’ve done). Not really (nose has just grown even bigger).

      Anyway…

    • Hey Safia,

Firstly I’m confused you’ve asked the same question twice (I done that shit before so don’t fret)

      And secondly…

      YOU might be confused.

Are you maybe asking someone else to work your business for you? (I did mention in the post, NOT to be a couch potato, ’cause Rome wasn’t built by people sittin’ on their jacksies)

This article is mainly directed at people who have, at least, some experience in online marketing (So, it wasn’t really suitable for you, maybe).

But, if you’re a complete neophyte, I’d suggest grabbing a few books on the subject – and soaking up the knowledge for about a month.

      Because, listen…

When watching your baby take it’s first steps… you’d never expect them to start running straight off the bat, would you?

Thanks again for visiting my site Safia, and I hope your journey to success is all you’ve ever wished for.
