"Building an Online Business That Isn't Just Another Nail In Your Coffin"
I used that headline not only to grab your attention, but also to remind us how important it is to choose the right business.
Because you DON'T want to end up like this clown...
I climbed all the way to the top of the ladder... only to find out it was against the wrong wall!
PULEEASE, take this shiz seriously...
Time is our most precious asset.
Money, comes and goes, but time - once spent never comes back.
You "CAN'T" bank it, save it, or get interest on it.
NOPE...
Gone is GONE!
So, don't listen to anyone about how to spend YOUR time. Because if you do...
YOU'll become their asset...
or liability, depending on the role you decide to "ACT" out in life.
Many people I know spend most of their days (and nights) working businesses they 'kin HATE!
With a BIG tight knot in their belly...
Waitin' for the time to make a BIG exit.
Take The "Right" Amount of Time, 'Cause It's Crucial For Your Sanity
Listen...
When I was 15 and I needed money.
My first "real" paying job was workin' the counter scooping ice
cream at Wimpey's in the shopping center.
The owner was Chinese.
His son had huge COKE bottle like eyeglasses.
(He was the one training me as a "soda jerk.")
Yep, and I really did feel like one.
I was making a WHOPPIN' $2.85 per hour.
I had the hardest time figuring out how to give proper change from
the cash register (they weren't idiot proof back then)
For the life of me I couldn't even work the milkshake blending
machine right.
I remember once, the blender shot the milkshake all over a
customer's freshly laundered dress shirt.
The Chinese owner was yelling at me in Chinese.
The customer was shoutin' blue fks.
And I said to myself, "this job's shit"
I toughed it for for a few more weeks and quit.
And that pattern stayed with me for a long, long time, because...
"Sometimes" quitting can be the BEST thing you can do.
But only of it opens new doors to something better.
So, look at where you're at now...
Take a deep hard look.
And ask yourself...
Is this where you want to be in 5 yrs time?
The Six Wise Men (it's my story, so I'll decide which gender - OKAY!)
If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's to listen to... and take action when these 6 wise men speak.
Who's the business for, and will I enjoy serving them?
Why would that give me satisfaction?
Where are the best channels to reach my audience?
When is the best time?
What is the best way to serve them?
How will I stand out?
Going deep on these questions will help tons... REALLY drill down!
And when you've made a decision that feels right....
Go for it!
(Remember - Look up and make sure you've placed your ladder on the right wall)
P.S: And remember that BIG Yellow Door - love ya!)
Hi Dedo,
Your blog post on building an online business is quite engaging. You’ve used a unique, conversational tone that makes the content relatable. The use of personal anecdotes and the focus on making sure one’s business aligns with their values and interests are valuable points. However, I noticed the post focuses more on the mindset and less on practical steps. Could you add some specific strategies or tools that have worked for you in the online business?
Thank you for your work and sharing your insights!
Best regards,
Makhsud
Hey Makhsud!
Thanks for re-connecting buddy, it’s always a pleasure to mind-meld with you (It’s a star-trek thang).
And the reason I focus more on the mindset is because…
That’s the ONLY thing that stops most people from achieving their full potential.
It’s never about strategy, tactics, education, or any of the things most people use to NOT take action.
(Those little voices in their heads)…
“I’m not good enough”
“I need to learn more”
“I might look like an idiot”)
“I have to discover the strategy my guru used, ’cause it worked for them… and it’ll work for MEEE”
Because back in the day when I took years out of my life to learn certain skills.
If I would have just taken action “WHILE” learning these skills, I would have learned much, much faster (and saved myself tons of heartache).
So, my strategy now is…
Start before you’re ready…
And don’t be afraid to strike up NEW conversations with strangers – to make friends (the YELLOW door)
And make sure when you offer something, you’re talkin’ to the RIGHT person.
(Ya won’t catch much fish using strawberries!)
Hope this helps Makhsud.
Have a great day.

Your post pretty much nailed the sentiment that I often have when it comes to how we spend our precious time that we can’t get back.
That said, there are realities we have to come to terms with, and that’s why we have to make sacrifices or do things we’d rather not be doing just to earn some money to buy us some flexibility down the road.
This is a really hard juggling act, and I really do envy people who have figured out how to thrive financially doing the things they want to be doing.
I suppose building an online business is a great way to achieve this, but it’s by no means easy. I mean, in my case, I’ve still kept my day job and have been working off hours on my own online business, but that can be a recipe for burnout.
Though I still keep the dream alive to finally live off my own online business doing what I love…
Hey Johnny!
Thanks for stoppin’ by and leaving such a thoughtful commment (I really appreciate gettin’ to know you)
And I agree with you…
There are certain “realities” stopping folk from reaching their true potential.
But listen…

This is to Johnny above…
My reply was “CUT OFF” just after the click here…
Once you’ve clicked, read down the page and there’s another link…
Click on that one, and read the pages that follow (but DON’T buy anything)
If you like the ideas, keep in touch and I’ll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
And change how you do business in a BIG way.
Hey there, it’s always so nice to come across fresh new content.
Your take on building an online business is refreshingly real, and that headline got me hooked, with the analogy of climbing the ladder only to realize it’s against the wrong wall?
Hahaha…
It hits home hard – in so many different ways.
The emphasis on time being our most precious asset really struck a chord.
Also a wake-up call to not let others dictate how we spend it, or we risk becoming someone else’s asset or liability – a powerful perspective.
Keep up doing such great work Dedo.
Can’t wait to see what else you’ll share with us.
Hey Stephanie!
Thanks for clickin’ through…
And I love that you’ve found my article valuable and full of insights.
Insights that’ll shave YEARS off a journey of woe, hardship, and hair-pullin’ headaches.
Because…
If only one person can “GET” what I’m saying – and put these ideas into practise.
It IS this – that really makes my heart jump out of my chest, and sing with joy!
But Warning…
(A Small CAVEAT)
I don’t think the hard lessons life dishes out are negative (because they WILL make you stronger if you’re willing to plough on regardless), although – If I can make your journey a tinsy, winsy bit easier.
My apologies…
But I’m gonna do it!
Have a great day Stephanie.
